These terms govern your use of the SmileShift iPhone app and website. By continuing to use SmileShift, you agree to these terms.

SmileShift's purpose

SmileShift is a personal photo journal and video-creation tool for documenting changes during braces or aligner treatment. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or an assessment of whether teeth are moving correctly.

Dental and orthodontic care

Always follow instructions from your dentist or orthodontist. Reminder dates and intervals are convenience features only. Contact a qualified professional about pain, fit, treatment progress, or other health concerns.

Eligibility

You must be legally able to agree to these terms. A parent or legal guardian should supervise use by a minor and is responsible for deciding whether SmileShift is appropriate for that minor.

Your content

You retain ownership of the photos, notes, and videos you add or create. You give SmileShift permission to process that content on your device only as needed to provide the features you request. You are responsible for making backups of anything you wish to keep.

Optional Apple sign-in

You may use SmileShift without an account. If you choose Sign in with Apple, you are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple Account. Sign in does not currently provide cloud storage or automatic photo recovery.

Subscription, free trial, and billing

SmileShift Pro is offered as an auto-renewable monthly subscription. Eligible new subscribers may receive a seven-day free trial. When the trial ends, Apple will charge the subscription price shown in the App Store purchase confirmation—currently $9.99 per month in the United States—and the subscription will renew monthly unless canceled. Prices may vary by country, currency, and tax.

You can manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancel before the renewal date shown by Apple to avoid the next charge. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period or free-trial period. Apple processes payments, renewals, cancellations, and eligible refunds under its applicable terms.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse SmileShift, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, violate another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights, or use the service in violation of applicable law.

Third-party services

SmileShift uses Apple features such as Sign in with Apple, notifications, the photo picker, in-app purchases, App Store reviews, and the share sheet. Your use of those features may also be governed by Apple's terms and privacy practices. Services you select when sharing a video have their own terms.

Availability and changes

Features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued. We may update these terms as SmileShift evolves. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.

Disclaimers

SmileShift is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, or any particular dental or orthodontic outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SmileShift's developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the app. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
